They serve two different goals. The Certified UX Designer (CUXD) is for people building a UX design career, it covers the full design process: user research, wireframing in Figma, advanced interaction design, usability testing, and a portfolio case study. It is specifically designed to develop the skills and evidence that UX hiring managers look for. The Certified Landing Page & Web Design Specialist (CLPWDS) is for marketers, entrepreneurs, and business owners who need to design and build effective web pages, it is practical, commercially focused, and ends with a live WordPress site you own and manage. If you want to become a designer, CUXD. If you want to build better pages for your business, CLPWDS.

For most courses, no prior design experience is required. UX/UI Design Essentials, Landing Page Design, Canva, WordPress, Presentation Design, and both mobile editing courses are all designed for people starting from scratch. The Advanced UX/UI Design course and the Figma (WTF) course assume you have completed the Essentials module or have some UX design experience. DaVinci Resolve and Photoshop/Lightroom assume basic computer literacy but not prior creative software experience, the courses are structured for beginners to those specific tools.

Figma has a free plan that is genuinely sufficient for individual designers. The core design and prototyping features used in the What The Figma course are all available on the free tier. Paid plans are mainly for teams needing advanced collaboration, version history, and larger project libraries. For the other tools: Canva has a robust free tier (Canva Pro is optional); WordPress itself is free (hosting costs apply); DaVinci Resolve’s full-featured version is free, no subscription required; Lightroom Mobile has a free version with core editing features; CapCut is free. Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom desktop require an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, our trainer will advise on the most cost-effective plan for your use case.

Yes, UX thinking is genuinely useful outside of design roles. UX/UI Essentials is taken by product managers, marketers, project managers, and business owners who want to understand how users think, communicate more effectively with their design teams, or make better decisions about their own digital products and pages. The design thinking methodology taught in the course is a problem-solving framework as much as it is a design process. Many learners take this course as the M2 entry point of the CLPWDS programme precisely because it makes the landing page and WordPress work significantly more effective.

The Capstone is the fourth and final module of the Certified UX Designer programme. It is a portfolio case study project delivered through synchronous e-learning, you apply everything from the first three modules to a complete design challenge, producing a structured case study that demonstrates your research process, design decisions, and usability findings. It is required to complete the CUXD certification. It is also the most practically valuable module for anyone seeking UX employment, hiring managers assess portfolio case studies, not just tool proficiency. The synchronous e-learning format means it can be completed flexibly around work commitments.

It depends on your context and output goals. CapCut is the right choice if you primarily edit short-form content for social platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) and want to work entirely from your phone. It is fast, platform-optimised, and built for the pace of social content production. DaVinci Resolve is the right choice if you produce longer-form content, need professional colour grading, work with multi-camera footage, or want broadcast-quality output. It runs on desktop and is used by professional videographers, corporate video producers, and filmmakers. Many content creators eventually use both CapCut for fast social content, DaVinci Resolve for high-quality productions.

Yes, every course is available as a standalone module. You receive a WSQ Statement of Attainment for each module you complete independently. If you later decide to pursue the full CUXD or CLPWDS certification, completed modules count toward it with no repeat required. Many learners start with the specific course most relevant to their immediate work, then stack toward the full certification over a few months. The only exception is the Advanced UX/UI Design course, it is most valuable after completing the Essentials course or with equivalent experience.

After SSG funding, individual courses typically cost around 30% of the full fee for eligible Singaporeans and PRs. SME employees may pay less after employer grants. SkillsFuture Credit ($500 per Singaporean aged 25+) can be offset against the subsidised amount. Exact figures vary by course, citizenship status, employment type, and company size.
