Business and Email Writing with AI Course

Develop professional writing discipline across every business context – from reports, proposals, and workplace documents to the full range of professional and persuasive emails – with AI as a drafting, editing, and refining tool throughout.

Write with clarity. Communicate with impact.

Course Description

What is This Course About?

Most professionals write every day, and almost none of them have ever been taught how.

They write emails that get ignored because the point is buried in the third paragraph. They write reports that take three hours and communicate nothing their manager did not already know. They write proposals that describe the solution beautifully and forget to make the case for why the reader should care. They write long meeting updates because editing takes time they do not have.

AI has changed the writing equation – but not in the way most people assume. The professionals who use AI most effectively are not the ones who let it write for them. They are the ones who know what good writing looks like, can direct AI to produce a strong first draft, and have the editorial discipline to improve it rather than just accept it. AI makes strong writers faster. It makes weak writers more confident and mediocre.

This course develops both the writing discipline and AI capability over two integrated days.

Day 1 covers business writing – the full range of professional documents that require clear thinking, logical structure, and precise language: reports, proposals, memos, internal communications, and the frameworks that make business writing both faster and better. AI runs through Day 1 as a drafting and structuring tool, applied to each format as it is taught.

Day 2 covers email writing – not as a single format but as a family of distinct communication challenges, each with its own conventions and failure modes: professional workplace emails, difficult messages (bad news, escalation, declination), persuasion and influence emails, client and external outreach, and email marketing copy. AI runs through Day 2 as a tone-calibration, personalisation, and editing tool – with explicit attention to the specific ways AI-generated email sounds generic and how to fix it.

By the end of this course, you will write faster, more clearly, and with more consistent impact – using AI as a genuine productivity accelerator rather than a crutch that makes your writing sound like everyone else’s.

Tools Covered

Tools and Resources

This course is tools-integrated throughout. AI runs as a live layer across every writing session on both days.

  • ChatGPT (free tier) – primary AI drafting and editing tool throughout
  • Claude (free tier) – alternative AI assistant and comparison tool for editing exercises
  • Subject line testing tools – CoSchedule Headline Analyser for email subject line evaluation
  • Provided writing exercise templates – business document formats and email brief cards for all sessions

Learners need a laptop and a ChatGPT or Claude account. Both are free.

Target Audience

Who This Course Is For

This course is designed for any professional who writes as part of their role and wants to write with more clarity, more speed, and more consistent impact – using AI as a genuine productivity tool rather than a shortcut.

  • Corporate professionals and managers who write reports, proposals, memos, and internal communications
  • Marketing and communications professionals who write campaign emails, nurture sequences, and client-facing content
  • Sales and business development professionals who write outreach emails, proposals, and follow-ups
  • Entrepreneurs and business owners who write across every format – internal, external, marketing, and client-facing
  • HR, operations, and administrative professionals who write policies, procedures, meeting summaries, and internal updates
  • Anyone who has received feedback that their writing is unclear, too long, or insufficiently direct – and wants a structured approach to fixing it

No prior writing training or AI tool experience required.

What You’ll Need to Get Started

This course has no formal prerequisites.

  • A ChatGPT account (free tier) or Claude account (free tier) – set up before Day 1
  • A professional context to draw on – a role, a team, or specific writing challenges you currently face
  • C6 in O-Level English or equivalent

Course Highlights

What You’ll Learn

Writing is a craft with learnable principles. This course develops all of them across business and email contexts, with AI applied throughout.

  • Common writing failures: buried leads, assumed context, passivity, overqualification, and unclear actions
  • Clarity framework: BLUF, pyramidal structure, clarity test, and sentence discipline
  • Audience analysis: mapping reader knowledge, needs, and possible misunderstandings across different audiences
  • AI for business writing: structured prompting, drafting from briefs, and editing discipline
  • Professional reports: structure that drives decisions, with AI outlining and editing
  • Business proposals: structuring that leads with the problem, with AI drafting
  • Memos and internal documents: decision memos, updates, meeting records, and policies, with AI standardisation
  • Professional email standards: subject lines, openings, body structure, action requests, and tone calibration
  • Difficult emails: bad news, refusals, escalation, apologies, and following up, with AI drafting
  • Persuasion by email: request structuring, influencing without authority, and AIDA
  • Client and outreach emails: cold outreach, business development, referrals, following up, and AI personalisation
  • Email marketing copy: structure (hook, body, offer, CTA), segmentation, sequences, and AI campaign generation

The Need-to-Know Stuff, Fast

Everything you need to know about the course. Can’t find the answer you’re looking for? Please contact our friendly team.

No. This is a professional writing course for people who are already competent in English and want to write with more clarity, speed, and impact. If English language proficiency is the primary challenge, a different programme would be more appropriate.

No. The AI writing workflow is taught from the beginning on Day 1. A ChatGPT or Claude free account is all you need, and you will set it up during the pre-course preparation.

Both. Day 1 covers internal and external business documents. Day 2 covers the full range of email – including email marketing copy, nurture sequences, and subject lines – alongside professional, difficult, and outreach email types.

Yes, if you send any kind of email to prospects, customers, or partners. The email marketing content is grounded in the same clarity and audience principles as the professional email content – the difference is the conversion objective, not the writing discipline.

No, and Day 1 makes the case for why. AI produces writing that is structured and grammatically correct. It does not produce writing that is specific to your organisation, your relationship with the reader, your numbers, your context, or your voice. Those elements are what make professional writing effective. This course teaches you how to contribute to them – and how to use AI to handle the structural scaffolding so you can focus on the substance.
