I am totally new to digital marketing. What is a good course to start and further expand my knowledge and skills in this area?

We recommend starting with the Certified Digital Marketing Strategist programme comprising of 6 core modules. By the end this certification programme, you will equipped with solid foundational knowledge on digital marketing and be able to develop and implement digital marketing strategies for a business.

Alternatively, you may start with a bite-sized module such as the WSQ Digital Marketing Strategy (the first out of the 6 core modules) to get a sense of this industry before proceeding with the rest of the core modules. In this course, you will learn the basics and fundamentals of Digital Marketing. The course is packed with real world case studies, industry best practices, and proven methodologies on how to develop an effective digital marketing strategy for both B2B and B2C businesses.

Are the courses purely lecture-based or is there interaction from trainees as well?
The courses are not purely lecture-based, they offer hands-on practical sessions as well as interaction/groupwork amongst the trainers and trainees. We apply Gagne’s 9 events of instruction in both our online and traditional classrooms to enable effective transfer and retention of skills and knowledge.

What is the difference between online classroom and in-person traditional classroom?

The online course is conducted over Zoom and the in-person course is delivered through a traditional classroom setting. Both learning modes essentially offer the same experience in terms of the course contents, size, duration and learning outcomes.

What are the duration of the courses?

The course duration varies depending on the course. We have courses that run from 8-24 hours but on the average majority of our courses are 16 hours long. The exact course duration can be found on each individual course page.

How are the courses different from other training centres and Institutes of Higher Learning?

Equinet Academy’s courses are designed for the everyday person juggling work and family life. Unlike other certification courses that require heavy time commitment and months to complete, our courses are bite-sized yet comprehensive spanning 8-24 hours. All the courses are conducted by practicing industry experts with years of knowledge in Digital Marketing. In regards to the Certified Digital Marketing Strategist (CDMS) programme, you can schedule the modules at your own pace according to your convenience.

The maximum number of participants per session is 20-25, online and in a classroom setting.

Is 2-3 days sufficient to meet the learning objectives?

Equinet Academy’s courses are designed to provide bite-sized yet comprehensive information to be delivered within 1-3 days. The courses not only include theory but also hands-on practical experience so that trainees can take away applicable knowledge.

If you feel that you have not met the learning objectives at the end of the course, you are always welcomed to resit the course online without any cost on your end. You will also have lifetime access to the courseware online which you may review, and post-training clinic sessions to address your challenges with a subject matter expert.

Can I have more information on mid-career switch? / I'm currently in a mid-career switch, what courses should I take?

We recommend the Certified Digital Marketing Strategist (CDMS) Programme to trainees who are looking for a career switch. The CDMS programme will provide you with a holistic overview of digital marketing and equip you with the skills to develop a digital marketing strategy for a business.

Do I have to take the courses in any particular order?

The Certified Digital Marketing Strategist (CDMS) programme consists of 6 core modules and the duration for each module, is 2 consecutive days (In-person or online classroom). We recommend trainees to begin with the Digital Marketing Strategy (DMS) and end with the Digital Marketing Analytics (DMA) module.

For Content Marketing, Search Engine Optimisation, Digital Advertising, and Social Media Marketing; trainees do not need to complete in order. In other words, you may complete the 4 courses in whichever order that fits best for you.

After which, you may proceed to take advanced and elective modules, depending on your specialisation.

What kind of certificate do you get after completing the course?

Upon completion of each of the core modules, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. If you have completed all 6 core modules, you will receive a Certified Digital Marketing Strategist certificate.

For certifiable (WSQ) courses with assessment modules, a Statement of Attainment (SOA) will also be issued by SkillsFuture Singapore upon attaining ‘Competent’ status. Employers may verify the authenticity of your cert via the e-Cert verification e-Service at SSG.

What does the post-training support include?

The post-training support includes unlimited complimentary 2-hour small group clinic sessions with a subject matter expert for up to 3 years, one complimentary online refresher seat within a year of attending the course, and lifetime access to your courseware (via the learning portal resource library) which includes 1-year free e-learning videos for certain courses.

Will I have access to the course materials after the course?

You will have lifetime access to your learning portal course resource library which is constantly updated. For certain courses, you will have 1-year free access to e-learning videos as well. Along with lifetime access to the learning portal, you are also entitled to post-training support which includes 3-hour clinic session with the industry expert and one complimentary online refresher seat within a year after attending your course.

What are the available course funding/grants/subsidies?

For certifiable (WSQ) and non-certifiable (non-WSQ) courses approved by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), self-sponsored individuals and companies (SMEs and Non-SMEs) can apply under the following grant schemes to subsidise the course fees.

You may be eligible for up to 90% SkillsFuture subsidies. Please contact us for more details on your grant/funding eligibility.

From 1 Jan 2022, SkillsFuture course funding will be revised to a baseline of 50% subsidy, with an additional 20% subsidy (up to 70% subsidy) for SMEs and Mid-career individuals (Singapore citizens above 40 years old)
