Each module can also be completed independently and carries its own Certificate of Completion by Equinet Academy. Learners who have already completed one or more modules of the CES programme may count those completions toward the full programme certification by completing the remaining modules.
The programme comprises four modules. Modules 1 and 4 run for 1 day each (8 hours). Modules 2 and 3 run for 2 days each (16 hours). Modules 1 to 3 are WSQ accredited and eligible for SSG subsidies. Module 4 is a Non-WSQ CASL course. Each module combines structured instruction, hands-on exercises, a written case study assessment, and an individual project presentation. Modules can be taken individually or as a full certification track.

This programme is designed for aspiring ecommerce entrepreneurs who want to launch an online business, marketing and operations professionals managing or growing an existing store, business owners and SME leaders expanding into digital or cross-border ecommerce, digital marketers seeking specialist ecommerce strategy capability, and freelancers and consultants who advise clients on ecommerce growth and operations.
No prerequisites are required to begin Module 1. Each subsequent module builds on the previous one. Module 4 (Ecommerce Strategy) assumes familiarity with ecommerce operations and digital marketing at the level covered in Modules 1 to 3, and recommends approximately one to two years of ecommerce or digital marketing experience.
Yes. Each module can be taken as a standalone course and carries its own Certificate of Completion by Equinet Academy. The full Certified Ecommerce Specialist certification requires completion of all four modules. Learners who have completed individual modules may count those toward the full programme certification by completing the remaining modules.
The recommended sequence is Module 1 (Ecommerce Essentials), then Module 2 (Ecommerce Marketplaces), then Module 3 (Shopify Store Creation), then Module 4 (Ecommerce Strategy). Each module builds on concepts and tools introduced in the previous one. Module 4 in particular draws on practical ecommerce experience that the earlier modules develop.
All modules are delivered in-person in a classroom facilitated format. Sessions combine structured instruction with hands-on exercises, real-world case studies, and applied projects. Learners are encouraged to bring their own ecommerce context or business scenario to each module.
Each module includes a Case Study Written Assessment (open-book, 45 minutes) and an Individual Project Presentation (approximately 15 minutes). Assessments are performance-based, testing applied competency through realistic business scenarios rather than theoretical recall.
Module 4 (Ecommerce Strategy) has been condensed from 2 days to 1 focused day. The content has been streamlined to deliver advanced strategic capability in a single intensive session covering customer insights, campaign design, analytics, and international expansion. The total programme is now 6 days and 48 hours instead of 7 days and 56 hours.
