Across two modules, you will build a complete photo editing capability:
- Lightroom Mobile library workflow for organising and editing image sets
- Exposure, tone, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, and colour correction
- Tone curve editing for contrast control, matte looks, and tonal sculpting
- HSL colour targeting for adjusting specific colour ranges
- Masking and selective adjustments using gradients, subject masks, sky masks, and brush tools
- Preset creation, batch editing, and selective sync for a consistent image series
- Export settings for social media, editorial use, client delivery, and high-resolution output
- Lightroom Classic catalogue management and structured ingest-to-archive workflow
- Advanced RAW processing using colour profiles, tone curve, HSL, and calibration tools
- Commercial file strategy across TIFF, JPEG, DNG, PSD, bit depth, and colour profiles
- Frequency separation for natural portrait and product retouching
- Luminosity masking for precise adjustments in complex image areas
- Non-destructive dodge and burn for tonal sculpting and refinement
- Advanced colour grading using split toning, selective colour layers, and LUTs
- Professional output preparation for print, commercial digital, editorial, and archival delivery

Most photo editing courses teach tools and sliders. The Certified Photo Editor programme helps learners build a repeatable editing process for consistent, polished, and properly delivered images.
Get Certified
Certification Pathway
Participants who complete both modules and pass the required assessments in each will be awarded the Certified Photo Editor certification issued by Equinet Academy.
To attain the full CPE certification:
- Complete Module 1: Mobile Photo Editing with Lightroom and Creative Apps (2 days, 16 classroom hours) and pass the module assessment to receive the Certificate of Completion
- Complete Module 2: Desktop Photo Editing and Retouching (Photoshop and Lightroom) (2 days, 16 classroom hours) and pass the module assessment to receive the Certificate of Completion
- Pass all module assessments across the both modules: Case Study and Individual Project Presentation in each module
Total Duration: 2 Modules / 4 Days / 32 Classroom Hours
Each module can also be completed independently and carries its own Certificate of Completion by Equinet Academy. Learners who have already completed one of the modules may count those completions toward the CPE certification by completing the remaining module under the new structure.
Candidates who complete each module with at least 75% attendance and demonstrate competency in all assessments will receive the corresponding award for that module. Candidates who complete both modules will receive the Certified Photo Editor certificate from Equinet Academy.
