- Safety checks, equipment inspection, and adapting to different filming environments
- Shot types, composition, framing, and cinematography techniques for smartphone video
- Controlled camera movement using handheld technique, gimbals, and tripod-mounted rigs
- Shot plan interpretation and small team production coordination
- Assessment: case study written assessment and individual project presentation
- Visual storytelling and shot planning for multi-shot smartphone productions
- Continuity techniques, including the 180-degree rule, eye-line matching, action continuity, and screen direction
- Advanced smartphone video tools, including anamorphic adapters, Blackmagic

Certification Pathway
To attain the Certified Smartphone Videographer certification by Equinet Academy, complete the following modules:
- Module 1: Mobile Smartphone (iPhone and Android) Videography Essentials (2 days, 16 hours)
- Module 2: Advanced Cinematic Smartphone Videography (2 days, 16 hours)
- Pass all module assessments across both courses
Each module can also be taken as a standalone course. Learners who have already completed Module 1 as a standalone course may count it toward the Certified Smartphone Videographer certification by completing Module 2.
Candidates who complete each module with at least 75% attendance and demonstrate competency in all assessments will receive the corresponding award for that module. Candidates who complete all two modules will receive the Certified Smartphone Videographer certificate from Equinet Academy.

Tools may be updated over time to reflect current industry practices.
The recommended sequence is Module 1, then Module 2.
Yes. Each module can be taken as a standalone course. Both modules carry their own Equinet Academy Certificate of Completion independently.
No. A modern iPhone or Android smartphone with a video camera is sufficient to start. Specialist accessories such as gimbals, lights, microphones, and mobile rigs will be introduced during the programme where relevant.
