Across two modules, you will build a complete photo editing capability:
- Organising and sequencing footage from camera clips, B-roll, stock clips, and graphics
- Video storytelling principles that help each cut feel clear and purposeful
- Pacing and rhythm for talking-head videos, UGC product showcases, and lifestyle content
- Technical editing in CapCut, including trimming, splitting, speed control, gap removal, and audio management
- Video enhancement and cleanup, including colour adjustment, noise reduction, stabilisation, and imperfection removal
- Export settings for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and client delivery
- Script interpretation, scene breakdown, footage organisation, bins, and metadata tagging
- Fast assembly using the Cut page, dual-timeline view, source tape, and smart insert
- Precision editing using the Edit page, blade tool, trim modes, position lock, and Inspector
- Story-based editing using 3-point edits, 4-point edits, cutaway coverage, and continuity principles
- Audio finishing using Fairlight, including EQ, compression, noise reduction, and mixing
- Colour grading using nodes, Primary Corrector, Curves, Qualifier, and video scopes
- Professional export settings for online, broadcast, commercial, and client delivery

Most video editing courses teach software features. The Certified Video Editor programme helps learners build a repeatable editing process for organising footage, shaping stories, improving sound and visuals, and delivering polished videos.
Get Certified
Certification Pathway
Participants who complete both modules and pass the required assessments in each will be awarded the Certified Video Editor certification issued by Equinet Academy.
To attain the full CVE certification:
- Complete Module 1: Mobile Video Editing with CapCut (2 days, 16 classroom hours) and pass the module assessment to receive the Certificate of Completion
- Complete Module 2: Video Editing with DaVinci Resolve (2 days, 16 classroom hours) and pass the module assessment to receive the Certificate of Completion
- Pass all module assessments across the both modules: Case Study and Individual Project Presentation in each module
Total Duration: 2 Modules / 4 Days / 32 Classroom Hours
Each module can also be completed independently and carries its own Certificate of Completion by Equinet Academy. Learners who have already completed one of the modules may count those completions toward the CVE certification by completing the remaining module under the new structure.
Candidates who complete each module with at least 75% attendance and demonstrate competency in all assessments will receive the corresponding award for that module. Candidates who complete both modules will receive the Certified Video Editor certificate from Equinet Academy.

The recommended sequence is Module 1, then Module 2.
Yes. Each module can be taken as a standalone course. Both modules carry their own Equinet Academy Certificate of Completion independently.
No. Module 1 uses the free mobile version of CapCut, and Module 2 uses the free version of DaVinci Resolve.
