Trainer's Bio

Gordon is a human developer with over 25 years of experience helping people understand how they work best, trust themselves more deeply, and lead with confidence and intention.

Through The Centre Stage, he works with emerging and ambitious leaders to move them from instinct to intention, transforming self-awareness into how they lead, decide, and build trust.

A Gallup Certified Strengths Coach with a background spanning six industries, Gordon brings nearly 40 years of public speaking expertise and over 30 years as a professional emcee. His work is grounded in real-world experience: from mentoring hundreds of clients across all levels, from ambitious students to senior executives, to impacting organisations such as KPMG, OCBC, SAP, finexis, Lazada, and Acorn Wealth on leadership, communication and performance projects.

Before founding The Centre Stage, Gordon spent nearly a decade at Republic Polytechnic, where he received three consecutive nominations for Outstanding Facilitator, was twice recognised among the 100 Most Appreciated Mentors (2017 & 2018) and received the Curriculum Innovation Award in 2021.

Alongside his coaching work, Gordon has been a core part of Esplanade’s Baybeats Festival since its first edition in 2002. He currently leads the Baybeats Budding Emcee Programme, recruiting, auditioning, and developing the next generation of emcees.

Known for his honest, human and engaging style, Gordon runs sessions the same way he runs a stage: direct, purposeful, and without the fluff. He has spent decades figuring out what actually helps people communicate better, and that’s what he brings into the room.

Testimonials

“Gordon made the session work by showing up as a person, not just a presenter. He spent time genuinely connecting with the group rather than moving through slides, and that came through. The small group format gave space for real conversation. Sharing his own hacks and lived experience is what made it stick, it felt like learning from someone who had actually done the thing, not just read about it.”
