Across two modules, you will build a complete smartphone photography capability:
- Composition techniques, including rule of thirds, leading lines, framing, negative space, and symmetry
- Smartphone shooting modes, including portrait, night, HDR, and Pro mode
- Reading and using available light, including window light, shade, golden hour, and indoor lighting
- Smartphone lens choices, including ultrawide, standard, telephoto, and macro
- Manual control using ISO, shutter speed, and white balance
- Basic Lightroom Mobile editing for natural-looking improvements
- A 5 to 8 image photo series with clear story and image selection
- Assessment: case study written assessment and individual project presentation
- Advanced composition using layering, perspective, visual tension, and negative space
- Manual exposure control using Pro mode or a professional camera app
- RAW capture and when to use it for better editing flexibility
- Multi-lens shooting strategy for stronger visual storytelling
- Directional light control using front light, side light, backlight, shade, reflectors, and golden hour
- Lightroom Mobile editing using tone curve, HSL colour targeting, and preset creation
- A curated 10-image editorial series with a consistent visual style
- Assessment: case study written assessment and individual project presentation

Get Certified
Certification Pathway
To attain the Certified Smartphone Photographer certification by Equinet Academy, complete the following modules:
- Module 1: Mobile Phone (iPhone and Android) Photography (2 days, 16 hours)
- Module 2: Advanced Cinematic Smartphone Photography (2 days, 16 hours)
- Pass all module assessments across both courses
Each module can also be taken as a standalone course. Learners who have already completed Module 1 as a standalone course may count it toward the Certified Smartphone Photographer certification by completing Module 2.
Candidates who complete each module with at least 75% attendance and demonstrate competency in all assessments will receive the corresponding award for that module. Candidates who complete all two modules will receive the Certified Smartphone Photographer certificate from Equinet Academy.
