Trainer's Bio

Zulhafni believes in the bridging potential of communication, with over 15 years of experience in public speaking. He developed his methodology based on his experience/expertise as a public speaker, lawyer, negotiator, and coach – especially in the areas of persuasion, charismatic delivery, speech settings, and high-stress, high-stakes communication scenarios. There is nothing more painful than having a powerful idea but lacking the confidence to share it – he wants to change that for you.
 

His Journey In Communication:

  • Over 500 communication clients trained in group, corporate, and individual settings
  • Experienced Toastmaster from 2011, competing and winning in Speech Contests (Evaluation, Humorous, International, Impromptu Speeches) up to National level (Singapore)
  • Deputy Public Prosector, Attorney-General’s Chambers (2015 – 2019) – honing persuasive written and oral advocacy through court trials at the State Court/High Court level in Singapore
  • Helmed a Senior Trainer & Chief Operating Officer role in Public Speaking Academy Pte Ltd (founded by World Champion of Public Speaking 2016, Darren Tay) – designed, managed, and conducted communication training programmes for kids, adults, and corporate clients
  • Accepted into a competitive tech start-up accelerator programme (Antler, SG13 cohort) – developing, strategising, and pitching an early-stage product to VCs

 

Notable Achievements:

  • Current clients (1:1 and corporate training) in high-potential, senior leaders working in Government Agencies (Legal Aid Bureau, Ministry of Education, Changi General Hospital), start-up ecosystems (Antler, Xendit), sales settings (Dyson), and traditional industries (e.g., sales, technical, logistics, consulting)
  • Awarded the Public Service Commission Singapore Government Scholarship in 2011 for the study of Law
  • Graduated National University of Singapore, Faculty of Law in 2015 (LLB), awarded the Roger Fisher Negotiation (Top Student) Prize
  • Attained the Advanced Certificate in Learning & Performance by Institute for Adult Learning Singapore, SMC Accredited Mediator by Singapore Mediation Centre, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Master Practitioner, and Associate Certified Coach (International Coaching Federation)
  • Participated in various local and international law mooting/negotiation competitions; winning team for the Jean-Pictet International Humanitarian Law Competition 2015
  • Built and pitched an early-stage cross-border start-up to VCs for USD 125k investment under Antler’s accelerator programme (4% acceptance rate)
  • Published an article on the interplay between mediation and improvisation theory in the Asian Journal on Mediation (“Improvising on the Mediation Stage – What is Your Next Line?” [2021] Asian JM 46)
