The programme comprises six modules, each running for 2 days (16 classroom hours) and including practical shooting exercises, a written case study assessment and an individual project presentation. Modules can be taken individually or as a full certification track.
Module 1: Mobile Phone (iPhone & Android) Photography
Build professional photography fundamentals using the camera you already have with you. You will learn to apply composition and exposure principles with intention, use natural and artificial light effectively, adjust smartphone camera settings deliberately rather than relying on auto mode, select appropriate focal lengths for different subjects, develop a basic editing workflow, and produce a structured photo series that demonstrates narrative coherence.
Module 2: Advanced Smartphone Photography
Elevate mobile photography from casual shooting to intentional visual storytelling. You will learn to refine manual exposure and focus control, apply advanced composition techniques including layering and perspective, use creative lighting strategies to produce mood and drama, develop cohesive image sequencing across a curated series, and strengthen editing consistency and tonal control across your mobile workflow.
Module 3: Mirrorless & DSLR Photography Essentials
Master professional camera systems and develop the confidence to shoot in full manual mode. You will learn to operate your camera across every manual setting with precision, control aperture, shutter speed and ISO to achieve intentional exposure, select lenses strategically based on genre and creative direction, manage depth of field and subject isolation effectively, apply structured storytelling through image sets, and begin working with RAW files as part of a professional capture-to-edit workflow.
Module 4: Advanced Camera Techniques & Creative Lighting Photography
Execute complex, concept-driven shoots with professional lighting design. You will learn to design and implement multi-light setups for portrait, product and concept photography, direct subjects confidently to achieve intended results, apply advanced composition and framing techniques at a professional level, plan and execute concept-based photography from brief to delivery, and refine images using professional post-processing workflows aligned with the shoot’s creative direction.
Module 5: Mobile Photo Editing with Lightroom & Creative Apps
Develop a portable, structured editing workflow that produces consistent, professional results on mobile. You will learn to correct exposure and colour with precision, apply selective adjustments and masking to enhance specific areas of an image, maintain stylistic consistency across an entire image series, create and manage presets for workflow efficiency, and optimise files for digital publishing across different platforms and formats.
Module 6: Desktop Photo Editing & Retouching (Photoshop and Lightroom)
Achieve the advanced refinement and commercial-level polish that separates professional work from good amateur photography. You will learn to perform advanced RAW processing with full tonal control, execute precision retouching for portrait, product and commercial applications, apply complex colour grading and tonal sculpting techniques, work in non-destructive layer-based workflows that preserve editing flexibility, and prepare final files for both print and commercial digital delivery.
