Clarissa Chen is a seasoned senior eCommerce and commercial leader with over 18 years of industry experience across FMCG, beauty, consumer healthcare and home appliances sectors. She has built, scaled and led teams in omnichannel and marketplace businesses across retailer, brand principal, and eCommerce platform environments from startup to growth phases in both local and regional roles.
Clarissa’s career spans eCommerce leadership roles at SharkNinja, Lazada, Johnson & Johnson and 3M, where she has owned end to end eCommerce strategy covering commercial planning, channel mix, pricing and trading terms, campaign execution, and profitability management. Her experience covers B2C and B2B models across major platforms including Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, Amazon, and Shopify D2C, as well as distributor-led online ecosystems across markets in Southeast Asia.
At Lazada Southeast Asia, Clarissa led regional strategic accounts for the Health and Beauty category, partnering the top Beauty conglomerates such as L’Oréal Group, Estée Lauder Companies, LVMH, Unilever, P&G, Shiseido, AmorePacific, Beiersdorf, Coty, Johnson & Johnson and Sephora in driving stellar double-digit growth ahead of category, regional product launches and campaigns, secure exclusivity partnerships and improve monetisation and margin performance at scale.
In her last role as eCommerce Director at SharkNinja, Clarissa was responsible for driving online growth strategy and business plans across Singapore and Malaysia while supporting distributor markets in APAC with their eCommerce assortment and promotional strategies. Her work spans channel strategy, joint business planning with platforms and enablers, product launch execution, and building high performance eCommerce teams across internal and agency models. Her contributions have notably seen her clinch the prestigious SharkNinja APAC President’s Award in 2024 when SharkNinja clinched multiple #1 leaderboard (Singapore) in the respective category during key mega campaigns such as 11-11.
Beyond the online space, Clarissa has also worked in prior Marketing, Brand Management and Key Account Management roles at 3M, Guardian and Robinsons, bringing a solid foundation in commercial fundamentals before transitioning into digital commerce and marketplace leadership. This grounding enables her to bridge strategy and execution, aligning senior stakeholder priorities with hands-on operational delivery. Recognitions include being a 3-time award winner at 3M’s Marketing Professionalism Award – one of which clinched the overall Asia Area winner.
As an ACLP-certified trainer, Clarissa specialises in practical eCommerce execution for brands operating on marketplaces and omnichannel environments. Her sessions focus on real world frameworks for scaling marketplace performance, structuring joint business plans, optimising campaigns and building eCommerce operations for sustainable growth.
