Course Description

This course equips learners with the foundational skills to transform data into actionable insights using Power BI. Through a combination of data literacy, visual best practices, and storytelling techniques, participants will learn how to spot misleading patterns, build clear and purposeful dashboards, and tailor reports for diverse stakeholders. 

Designed for professionals who work with data but may not have formal analytics training, the course covers the end-to-end process of data preparation, visualisation, dashboard design, and communication of insights. Learners will engage in hands-on practice with Power BI, applying visualisation principles to build and evaluate dashboards that support business decisions.

Prerequisite

Participants should be comfortable using spreadsheet software (e.g. Excel or Google Sheets) and navigating digital interfaces. No coding is required. Familiarity with basic data reporting or business dashboards is helpful but not mandatory.

A SkillsFuture WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) – Data Visualisation and Storyboarding under the Skills Framework TSC and Certification of Completion by Equinet Academy will be awarded to candidates who have demonstrated competency in the Power BI course assessment and achieved at least 75% attendance.
