“Learning Canva at Equinet Academy has helped me design presentations that are not only more attractive but also more effective in keeping students engaged.”
Ng Chee Keong, a business educator specialising in retail, understands the importance of staying ahead in today’s digital world. Always eager to learn new skills, he recently took a Canva digital marketing course at Equinet Academy. The course provided him with practical tools to engage students and create visually compelling presentations.
As an educator, Chee Keong wanted to enhance his teaching methods with digital tools. “One of my biggest challenges was making visually engaging PowerPoint slides for my students,” he shared. “Learning Canva at Equinet Academy has helped me design presentations that are not only more attractive but also more effective in keeping students engaged.”
Chee Keong appreciated Equinet’s hands-on approach. “The trainer was very knowledgeable and engaging, which made the learning experience enjoyable. That’s why I agreed to participate in this interview,” he said.
One of the standout aspects of the course was the personalised guidance from the trainer. “What impressed me the most was how the trainer personally reviewed our mini projects and gave individual feedback. Everyone learns at a different pace, and this personal touch ensured we all kept up with the lesson,” he noted.
He contrasted this with other courses he had attended, where trainers simply assigned projects without individual feedback. “At Equinet, the trainer took time to correct us and make sure we understood the concepts. That level of engagement made a big difference.”
Chee Keong also praised Equinet’s administrative support. “The registration process was smooth, the venue was easy to locate, and technical support was always available when needed,” he said. “Whenever there was an issue, the administrators were quick to respond, which I really appreciated.”
Compared to other courses he had taken, where administrative support was slow, Equinet stood out. “I’d give them five stars for their efficiency,” he added.
Equinet provides post-course resources, including refresher courses, mentorship programmes, and access to learning materials for a year. While Chee Keong hadn’t utilised all these resources yet, he found the extended access valuable. “Being able to revisit course materials online for a year is a huge benefit. Sometimes we misplace files, and it’s great to know we can still access them when needed,” he explained.
One suggestion he had was for Equinet to provide updates on software changes. “Digital tools are always evolving. It would be helpful if Equinet could send periodic emails highlighting new features or updates in the tools we’ve learned,” he said.
Looking ahead, Chee Keong is interested in courses related to AI and content development for education. “AI is changing how we work, and learning how to prompt AI correctly is becoming an essential skill. If Equinet offered a course on AI prompting for specific industries, I believe many people would sign up,” he suggested.
He also mentioned his interest in structured training on industry-specific AI tools. “AI tools are everywhere, but which ones are most effective for education or marketing? If Equinet could provide insights on the best tools for different industries, that would be incredibly useful,” he said.
Chee Keong’s experience at Equinet Academy was overwhelmingly positive. “The trainers are knowledgeable, the support team is responsive, and the learning environment is well-structured,” he shared.
While he found the learning space slightly small, he appreciated the benefits of smaller class sizes. “I actually prefer smaller classes because they allow for more interaction,” he said.
For those considering upskilling in digital marketing or digital tools, Chee Keong highly recommends Equinet Academy. “If you want practical, hands-on training with real-world applications, this is the place to go,” he concluded.
