User Experience Design goes far beyond the tech industry, it looks into real life experiences that change the way people do everyday things. Great design will reach people in crucial areas of their lives: catching an airplane home, connecting with a relative, or capturing their child’s first steps.
A UX designer must take into consideration the circumstances, emotions, and priorities of users during their daily lives, design for them and hopefully make things that little bit better.
This course focuses on the principles and techniques in the design of good user experience. It will take you through the phases of the user experience design life cycle, with an emphasis on User Research. Throughout the course, you will learn and apply various UX principles and best practices through scenarios, examples, and exercises. You will also deep dive into the world of User Interface design, and be able to evaluate what makes a good user interface and finally, be equipped with the tools to conduct your own Usability Test.
Step into the minds of your customers with UX and create experiences that they’ll love.
You are required to have basic computer navigational skills such as opening and closing of files, dragging, and dropping of widgets, copying, and pasting of files.

User experience (UX) is the experience a person has when using a product or service. Sounds simple but is so much to it. User Experience Design combines numerous disciplines to focus on meeting the user’s needs. It takes into account psychology, market research, and even anatomy. But at the centre of it all, our focus is on – how an individual felt interacting with an app, website, shop etc.
UI and UX are commonly confused with each other. They are closely related but they are definitely different! User experience (UX) is the experience a person has when using a product or service whilst user interface (UI) is the specific product an individual interacts with (typically digital interfaces in this day and age).
UX Designers focus on making products and services easier, better and more enjoyable to use by looking at what customers need. This is achieved by understanding the user, their behaviour and most importantly, any patterns or habits that they have. UX Designers can be involved in the initial design and built of a product long before any customers have even used it. They can also be constantly tinkering and improving a long running service based upon user feedback.
Among many disciplines, Empathy with the user is probably the most important skill to a UX Designer. UX Designers come from various backgrounds – from psychology, anthropology, and the humanities; to problem solving, data analysis and various digital skills. They all play a valuable part in the role of a UX Designer.
Definitely! Being a UX designer also means you are always learning, putting in the hard work to understand people and how they use products or services. A diverse background and range of different experiences can only ever be a good thing.
You will need your own laptop (PC or MAC). The tools used in our UX Design Courses will be provided and are all available online.
For in-person training, do bring along a laptop. You also have the option to loan a laptop from us for the duration of the course. You may also want to bring along a jacket in case the room gets cold.
For online classes, do ensure you have a functional laptop and have Zoom installed prior to class. For more details, you may read the Online-based Classroom Learner Guide.
Yes, you may contact your trainer after the course. There are other post-training support channels such as the Equinet Academy Insider Community where you may network with like-minded individuals and industry experts and live Ask Me Anything sessions where you may seek advice from a subject matter expert.
Typically, in a traditional classroom, classes are conducted with 1 trainer to 20 – 24 learners in a cluster or classroom seating format. Group discussions, group presentations, lectures, peer-to-peer coaching are all conducted face-to-face (in-person).
In an online-based classroom, lessons will be delivered via a video conferencing software, Zoom. Lectures will be conducted via screensharing, while group discussions and group brainstorming will be conducted via “breakout” rooms (individual virtual rooms) to split up discussions into smaller groups. Both learning modes essentially offer the same course content and learning outcomes.
Read the Online-based Classroom Learner Guide for a more detailed comparison on both formats.
Our courses offer a very hands on approach so that you will be able to apply what you learn immediately. Moreover, our trainers are industry practitioners who will be able to answer your questions and offer expert advice in real time.
We also offer post-training support which includes 2-hour Ask Me Anything sessions with an industry expert for up to 3 years, an online refresher seat within 3 years post-training, access to an insider community, and 3-year access to up-to-date courseware via the learning management system.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide video recordings of the class due to PDPA regulations (Personal Data Protection Act). However, all courseware and e-learning videos are accessible online via the learning management system for 3 years. You may also sign up for a complimentary online refresher course for up to 3 years post-training.

You will also have full access to the courseware online which you may review during and after the course, and post-training support to address any challenges you may face along your learning journey through consultation with subject matter experts.

“Jeremiah’s wealth of experience in the F&B industry allows him to explain a lot of the concepts in that context, which is helpful for me to understand how UX/UI can be applied in different areas.”
Mareena binte Ahmad
“Jeremiah is highly knowledgeable in UI/UX Design. He imparted great knowledge and skills for us to understand better about the UI/UX topic, that is now increasingly gaining popularity in the market.”
Nicole Chai
“Jeremiah was an engaging instructor who uses a lot of examples to help you better understand UI/UX, which is good because the basis of UI/UX is to understand the user experience even in our daily lives – from opening a door to looking through a website. I also like that he doesn’t read off the slides and gave us a deeper understanding of the points he was explaining.”
