Trainer's Bio
Shalini is an ICF-accredited EQ coach and leadership trainer with over 20 years of experience in higher education and professional development in Singapore.
Since 2004, she has designed and facilitated impactful academic and professional skills training programmes. She specialises in conducting leadership, interpersonal, and written communication skills workshops that incorporate emotional intelligence (EQ) competencies. Through her training and coaching sessions, she helps new and experienced managers craft their leadership approach rooted in values and purpose. As an EQ Practitioner and Assessor, Shalini leverages Six Seconds EQ profiling tools and techniques to guide her coaching conversations, fostering meaningful and transformative change in her clients.
Her corporate clients include prestigious organisations such as Singapore Airlines (SIA), the Ministry of Manpower Singapore (MOM), Hoya Vision Care (APAC), the Canadian Embassy of Singapore, Teleperformance with Six Seconds, and the Arts Resource Hub, Singapore.
As an APAC Network Leader for Six Seconds, Shalini collaborates with a global volunteer community to promote emotional intelligence. She organises and delivers EQ cafés that are free, interactive workshops on emotional intelligence topics at the National Library in Singapore.
After eight successful years at the British Council’s Professional Development Centre in Singapore, Shalini now runs her own consultancy, Ficus & Liana. Inspired by the vital keystone species of rainforest trees in Borneo, Ficus & Liana reflects her commitment to both professional excellence and environmental conservation, with a portion of her business proceeds supporting orangutan conservation.
