Trainer's Bio
Kevin Lau is a Singapore-based photographer, videographer and trainer with over 17 years of professional experience in the creative media industry. Since beginning his career in 2009, he has worked across fashion, beauty, portraiture, events, corporate assignments and commercial content production. His experience covers the full production process, including creative planning, DSLR and mirrorless camera operation, lighting, composition, on-site production, photo editing, video editing and final content delivery.
During his time working with Mediacorp, Kevin had the opportunity to photograph local celebrities and prominent regional personalities, including Hong Kong entertainer Aaron Kwok. These assignments strengthened his ability to work in fast-paced media environments, manage high-profile subjects and produce professional visual content under demanding conditions.
Alongside his industry work, Kevin has developed a strong interest in adult education and practical skills training. He has conducted training in mobile photography, mobile videography, visual storytelling, camera composition, social media content creation, smartphone applications and digital literacy. He has experience teaching adult and senior learners and is skilled at breaking down technical concepts into clear, practical and easy-to-follow steps.
As a trainer, Kevin combines real-world industry experience with a learner-centred approach. His sessions emphasise hands-on practice, confidence building and the practical application of skills. He aims to help learners understand not only how to use cameras, smartphones and digital tools but also how to communicate more effectively through visual content.
