Trainer's Bio
Hazel Chai has spent over a decade building and running an ecommerce business from the ground up, having first explored the space in 2010 and officially launched her brand in 2013. She personally handled every part of the business operation, including product sourcing and listing, packing and fulfilment, advertising, content creation and customer service. At present, she continues to run her stores across website, Shopee (Preferred Seller) and Lazada Singapore, adapting her business strategy as the platforms, algorithms and margins shift each year.
Before running her ecommerce business full time, Hazel spent more than 20 years in corporate roles across the public service, entertainment, professional services and insurance sectors. She led cross functional teams, reviewed operation efficiencies and led technology projects that improved efficiencies and compliance effectiveness. It was this grounding in operational discipline and process thinking that allowed her to optimise and build a sustainable ecommerce business.
Hazel holds a Degree in Business and Management and is also an ACLP certified adult trainer since 2023. Besides giving training to adults, she is also a MOE registered trainer, teaching life and business skills to primary and secondary school students. In the classroom, she brings the same hands on, practical approach that has shaped her own business, teaching from what she has personally experienced in running an ecommerce store rather than from theory alone.
