Intro to AI in Data Analytics: From Data to Useful Answers

AI can make working with data faster, but it can also produce confident-looking answers that are incomplete, misleading or wrong. In this two-hour introduction, participants will work with a simple business dataset and use AI to frame a clearer question, understand the data, explore possible patterns, verify calculations and communicate one useful finding.

The focus is on knowing what to ask, what context AI needs and how to check whether the output is supported by the original data. The session is a practical introduction to AI in Data & Business Analytics rather than an attempt to cover the full course.

Working professionals, managers, marketers, operations staff, business owners and aspiring analysts who work with spreadsheets, reports or business data and want a practical introduction to using AI as part of the analysis process. The session is suitable for beginners. Coding and advanced data analytics experience are not required.

Bring a laptop with access to Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, an approved generative AI tool and stable internet access. A practice dataset will be provided. Do not upload confidential company, customer or personally identifiable information into AI tools during the workshop.
