Course Outcomes
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Develop a structured financial model by identifying business assumptions, forecasting cash flows and organising financial data to support business decision-making.

Yes. You should have completed Equinet Academy’s Finance for Non-Finance Manager course, or have equivalent foundational knowledge sufficient to read and interpret financial statements.
You will build a structured financial model and complete a DCF valuation, then extend the model with scenario and sensitivity analysis, margin of safety assessment and capital budgeting evaluation.
The course covers free cash flow forecasting, FCFF and FCFE, Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC), terminal value and intrinsic value as part of a complete discounted cash flow valuation.
You will apply Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Modified IRR (MIRR), Extended IRR (XIRR) and Payback Period to investment cases and learn how to interpret the results when measures differ.
Yes. You will use sensitivity tables and scenario cases to identify which assumptions have the greatest impact on value, assess downside outcomes and determine an appropriate margin of safety.
No. Concepts are introduced through interactive teaching and trainer demonstrations, then applied through repeated modelling exercises, problem solving and a complete individual project.
There are two summative assessments: a supervised Written Examination and an Individual Project. Both assess the learning outcomes across financial modelling, DCF valuation, capital budgeting, risk analysis and investment decision-making.
The project requires a completed financial model and DCF valuation for a selected company or business case, supported by sensitivity and margin of safety analysis, capital budgeting evaluation and a financially justified recommendation.
